Wild Asia is working with private landowners across Malaysia to help develop natural corridors for wildlife and the local environment. We actively engage both the landowners and our supporters to source for Malaysian tree seedlings and have them planted in suitable areas.
This planting activity links to Wild Asia’s Natural Corridor Initiative, which involves the protection of high conservation value habitats as well as the creation, rehabilitation and extension of natural corridors, such as rivers and streams, to connect such habitats.
Wild Asia's Tree Planting Programme was set up to promote the planting of native tree species in the region for the benefit of local wildlife and our planet. Buy a tree (or two) or learn more how you could get involved.
HOW DO YOU PARTICIPATE?
1. Pledge for ONE OR MORE tree (native species of course) and Wild Asia plant it for you. The cost to you? 50 bucks per tree. The benefits you ask? Need I say more?
2. Have a tree party where you and your friends or even colleagues can come to the site and get dirty and plant the trees yourself. Alternatively Wild Asia can also plant it for you. It's good for your corporate image, employee morale, and best of all it gives you carbon credits (Trees capture atmospheric carbon and covert it to wood. When you or your company plant trees, you are offsetting the effects (e.g., climate change) of greenhouse gases from automobiles, factories and power generation)
DID YOU KNOW?
That planting 50 trees (0.2 hectares of land) will offset your carbon dioxide emissions of 2 tonnes for 10 years.
