“Forest fires cause devastating effects on the lands that they burn. Not only are thousands of acres of timber lost, but also, the wildlife in the forest faces starvation or even extinction. The smoke causes pollution problems for areas even remotely close to the actual fires. Over the last several years, forest fires have ravaged many acres of Indonesia’s land and continue to have a lasting effect on its people.”
