Born on 17 August 1961 in Delhi, India, artist Ravi Shail believes in his artistic natural ability, an expertise he has since honed and sharpened. At the tender age of 12, Shail started to make a living through his artwork – he illustrated for the little stories which his publishing working father brought home.  By his early teens, Shail scored a Silver medal in the Shankar International Art Competition, no mean feat as the contest was participated by thousands of children from all over the world.

Ravi studied at the renowned Delhi College of Arts in India and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (1st Class Honours) in 1984. The professional accreditations in his formative years and his keen incline for Arts has enabled him to pursue an outstanding 20-year career in the advertising world, winning numerous creative awards such as the Asian Direct Marketing (Gold), A&M Award (Silver, Bronze), Calcutta Ad Club (Gold), Delhi Ad Club (Gold, Silver) and the Rajasthan Patrika (Gold). He has also worked in established organizations in India, Singapore, Oman and Malaysia.
