On August 2nd
2008, EcoKnights conducted the first series of workshop for the Eco Film Fest six
finalists (Amateur category). Held at Taman Tun Dr Ismail, the Eco Workshop was
conducted with speakers from EcoKnights (Yasmin Rasyid), and Wild Asia (Intan
Shafinaz Suhaimi and Rebecca Thomason).
The finalists and some of
their crew received first hand knowledge about environmental issues in Malaysia
through a series of case studies and programmes that are currently initiated by
EcoKnights and Wild Asia. These include current communication and awareness
programmes by EcoKnights, and the Natural Corridor Initiatives (NCI) and
Sustainable Islands (SIP) programmes by Wild Asia . Finalists were also provided
with a general overview of climate change with a specific focus on local issues
and human-induced impacts on the environment.
To end the workshop, all
finalists were given a token of appreciation in the form of a limited edition
EcoKnights basic cotton tee.

The second workshop, Director’s
Workshop will be held on the 9th and 10th August, 2008 at
the National Arts Academy.
