November 15, 2011, Kuala Lumpur – EcoKnights was invited to conduct a lecture on “International Environment Crisis” at the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR), at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here in Kuala Lumpur.
This lecture series is part of the 2 week long programme called “Crisis Management for International Participants 2011” organized by the IDFR.
The audience consists of participants from Laos, Uganda, Malaysia, Croatia, Indonesia, Vietnam, among others.
A dynamic discussion took place among some of the participants on the advocacy issues that are taking place among grassroots organization in addressing and pushing for a greener agenda in their own respective countries. The hot topic of the day was how politics and the political economy can be balanced with some consideration for environmental impacts of industrialization.
The participants were alerted on some of the key indicators of an environmental crisis and also a snap shot of how the current financial or even food crisis is closely linked to the ailing signs of a deteriorating environment.
The lecture was conducted by the president and founder of EcoKnights, Yasmin Rasyid.
